Safety Requirements for Hand Held Non-Electric Fasteners Driving Tools
It has come to the attention of SPIT / PASLODE that fasteners, fuel cells and spare parts, which are not specified by SPIT or PASLODE, are being used in the Pulsa and Impulse range of gas tools. The European safety standard BSEN 792-13 that entered into force in April 2001 addresses this issue with the goal of the best possible safety for the user.
The standard requires the operating instruction to contain the following information:
Item 7.2.1 a:Only those fasteners listed in the operating instructions may be used in the driving tools.
Item 7.2.1 b:Only the main energy and the lubricants listed in the operating instructions may be used.
Item 7.2.1 e:For the maintenance of fastener driving tolls, only spare parts specified by the manufacturer or his authorised representative shall be used.
Item 7.2.5 a:Fastener driving tools operated by internal combustion shall only be used with dispensers for combustible gas, which are listed in the operating instructions.
If fasteners or dispensers for combustible gas or spare parts that are not listed in the operating instructions are used with SPIT Pulsa tools or PASLODE Impulse tools, there is an increased risk of deviations in specifications. Such deviations may lead to increased wear and tear and consequently to higher costs for repair and replacement, possibly also to malfunctioning which imply an increased risk of accident. It is for this reason that the European standard BSEN 792-13 emphasises the one unit system connection between the driving tool and the specified parts.
If the unspecified parts are used and if they lead to a malfunctioning or to an accident, ITW Construction Products will not be liable.
(Note to Item 7.2.1 a in EN 792-13)
SPIT Pulsa and PASLODE Impulse tools and the specified fasteners listed for the tool have to be seen as one unit in terms of technical safety
REMEMBER: THE USE OF NON-SPIT / PASLODE REPAIR PARTS AND FUEL / PIN PACKS MAY VOID ALL WARRANTIES.
